This is the official: Ali watching TMIAB in Real Time post. Oh look, Griff playing the guitar. *cups ear to listen for thud from general direction of Bracknell* Rory McGrath is from Cornwall? Who knew? It's the St Pirran's Cross, you numpties! Yeah Griff, but don't be trusting Falmouth Harbour (that's the only place from which I have ever had to be rescued by the RNLI...) Ooh, very plush boat. Griff getting a bit James May about the technicalities. Sounds like this is a bit like taking a Ferrari to the corner shop, mind... *joins in chorus of 'Trelawney'* ;D Sawmills Studios! Just over the river from where No1 Brother (or 'Jammy Bastard' as he is often known) used to live, in Golant. How sweet: Rory and the Wire Daisies. PadStein!Alert! This is basically 'Griff, Dara and Rory hitch-hike around the coast of Cornwall', isn't it? Not that I'm saying it like it's a bad thing... Engine mime! ;D I am actually weeping with laughter at this point. Pendennis Castle. Shades of a thousand tedious school trips crowd about me...mind you, WE were never allowed to fire the darn guns. 'An angry Welshman making mayonnaise..' *sporfle* Hey, what's this, a bit of gig racing to look forward to? Hooray and Up She Rises! ;D

Pol watching in real time isn't quite so lucid....
*THUD*
I'm really, really sorry, I'm going to have to watch it again before I make any intelligent comments! I do apologise *blush*

Oh my goodness me.....where to begin?? For starters, gotta be the best bit of entertaining telly this year, whether or not you're a Griff/Rory/Dara fan. Himself looked so at home on the water, and he appeared to have such expertise as a sailor, that my former career as a WRNS( 2 weeks in a hut in Reading ),may not have been wasted! There was so much to amuse.... querying the cost of fuel for the 'posh' vessel, trying to catch baby Lobsters with plastic scoops, negotiating the lock entraces, rowing in the 'right' direction, attempting to produce mayonnaise in a bucket.......very entertaining! Can't wait for next week's episode xx

Have just watched this again on iPlayer....
*cough* shall try to keep to the point this time. Ooooh, he does play the guitar (*thud*)
Loved: the first boat (£250 on Ebay eh? right....) Griff's reaction to the posh boat - "a very well appointed cupboard" ;D, perfect Rock Star Griff (particularly comment from sound man - well, that was vaguely better.....) The Pendennis cannon! That brought back holiday memories.... Pscyhoanalysis by sandcastle Lovely, lovely filming of scenery. I'd forgotten how ravishing that part of the world is. Lobsters! (and Griff making mayonnaise. He's so useful. ) and finding out the Wind in the Willows was set in Cornwall? You learn something new every day.
Lovely programme - gosh, beautifully shot as well. Fabulous. And I'll be alright in a bit.

It was brilliant! I probably learnt more about Cornwall in this series than living here for the last 9 years has!
