Just caught up with the first prog; thought it was fantastic; how cold was the Tay in November??!! How brave of Griff, the others seemed so used to it!

Yes,I just managed to catch up with last week's programme on i-player too, after finding that I had given OH incorrect instructions when setting the tape for our hols I had told him Rivers was on BBC2, as was Desperate Romantics..... Anyhoos, after an eventful week away (the weather was the least of my troubles!),it was lovely to relax with a small tincture, and watch our intrepid hero brave Hell and High Water in the beautiful wilds of Scotland Absolutely fascinating I thought, thanks to Griff's enthusiasm for the subject, and his intrepid 'have-a-go' presenting style. How brave is he? My heart was in my mouth a couple of times! Have double checked that tonight's episode was taped correctly,so will be watching that tomorrow, whilst resting up after recent probs. My goodness,I wish I was as fit as Himself! xx

I really enjoyed last night's show. I have been a cross the Mersey (where I'm originally from),many times either by boat or driven underneath. Never have I thought of swimming across! He continued with the great 'have a go' style I enjoyed the section at Chatsworth, I was there not long after he filmed there, and was told he had been filming for the show Rivers. Great to see the workings of the estates water system.

Thanks to your suburb programme highlighting the aquatic opportunities of central Scotland (Tayside) we have had a flurry of bookings from people looking to recreate sections of your route by canoe. Whilst i'm on here thanks for championing the rights of canoeists / all water users who are suffering a dire situation regarding access south of the border. Regards Dave @ www.sourceadventure.co.uk

I also like that Cadbury thought it be better he have the milk than offer it to the river. He's a cute dog.

Have really enjoyed the series, one of the best things on tv in ages. Especially loved The Broads section in tonight's programme. Excellent

I don't have the time to do a full research for you so I hope the two following links will lead you eventually to someone who knows the answer: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Formby,_Jr.#Selected_songs www.georgeformby.co.uk/

My partner and i both enjoyed the rivers series. I had never been sailing before we met, but became completely hooked on the first outing. Our old S & S sloop is based in the Walton backwaters, and Wrabness is one of our favourite haunts, its beautiful and peaceful (most of the time). We are lucky enough to live in Bures village near the Stour river. We really also enjoyed the three men in a boat series and its follow up programmes, and look forward to many more. Well done Griff for pointing out to the viewers the many restrictions on the access to our rivers.

I really enjoyed the Rivers series; I watched each programme and found them entertaining and informative. However, I find it hard to understand the fuss about access before the series started, with barely a whimper in the content when the series was aired. I also find it hard to understand how someone with Griff's background could make such naive and inflammatory statements. Following the Rivers series, my own research and what I have witnessed locally, all my support for canoeists has gone (and I was once an active paddler). I have here found a group who do not wish to communicate, understand or communicate with other water users, wish for Rights beyond those enjoyed by any others and wish to contribute nothing. Griff should revisit Matlock (-- his unhappiest experience - One Show and Radio Times) and see what 30, 40, 50 canoeists ignoring access agreements do - not "one canoe does no harm" (Radio 4 interview). If the environment is to be protected and we are all to enjoy rivers then people will have to talk with each other and, in our crowded land, there will have to be some agreed boundaries.

Like you, I enjoyed the entire series. Lets hope he does more like it in the future. `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>
