What do you think? As far as I'm concerned, this has got to be one of the best series of the last decade. It has everything I'm passionate about.....history,conservation,sense of community...and His Griffness Surely such a worthwhile concept will be worthy of another run? xx

Well, I would love there to be. I thought it was absolutely brilliant, profoundly worthwhile and has inspired a lot of interest around the country in conservation of the built environment. And to my mind Griff was the perfect presenter; knowledgeable, passionate about the cause and fun. He's such a good communicator - I can't imagine anyone else would have appealed to such a wide audience and got so many people involved.
As far as I understand it Roly Keating ditched it when he took over at BBC2, for which I want his head on a plate. But I live in hope he'll see sense....

I've never heard of him,but I hate him Maybe we could get Mandelson onboard (no Russian Billionaire's yacht jokes please),to fix him.... Seriously though, when you think of all the utter dross that TV companies put out nowadays.......why can't we who like something a little more thought provoking, be indulged? xx

Well quite!
It was a good programme with a good purpose and a great success. So naturally they axed it so we could have more utter garbage. Grr.

Yup.....all part of the great dumbing down process that nearly all TV execs seem to be in the grip of nowadays Not that I claim to be some highly intelligent academic who can't enjoy a bit of Reality Telly with my G&T (far from it! LOL )but........there's too blooming much of it, and not enough stuff that exercises the grey matter a bit,is there?
