Just been reading a piece about the motley crew of celebs that Comic Relief have assembled to climb Kilimanjaro in February.... Chris Moyles,Gary Barlow,Cheryl Cole,Kimberley Walsh,Fearne Cotton,Aleisha Dixon....... Dunno whether it's just because I'm an old codger, but they aren't the names that would have naturally sprung to my mind if I had been involved in it's production. There again ,they are I suppose, the big names that will ensure a large audience. And I daresay seeing how the ladies from Girls Aloud cope without their straighteners,or Moyles without his fry-up,is the whole point of the 'entertainment'. Some of you might be ahead of me here and can guess who would have been top of my Wish List ;D Well...he has at least 'done' a mountain or two before! LOL xx

Ahhh for the days when Comic Relief was funny.....
....although if they push Girls Aloud off the top I might laugh.

They should get a comedian who can actually climb mountains.....

I totally agree And I shan't expand this post to make any ribald remarks about 'waiting for the swelling to subside' xx

jilly, in answer to your original question: yes, you are an old codger. As am I. Very few of our silver haired heroes would be daft enough.... And I am not allowed to disparage poor Gary Barlow and his baby-lifting injury because I seem to have contracted a minor case of Liking Take That from my mate at work - also, if I'm rude about him in a public forum she will find me and hurt me.

Hi Alison My sense of being an old codger has been reinforced these last few days, by my receiving a free sample of anti-wrinkle cream through the post, and a sales call re stairlifts! As for Mr Barlow and his TT chums, don't think there's any shame attatched nowadays in 'coming out' as a fan (or an almost-fan LOL ) The whole Kilimanjaro thing is blatant celeb worship of the Heat mag kind, but at the end of the day,it is for charity soooooo..... xx

I'm bemused by Mr Barlow saying today that it takes six and a half days to reach the summit....and one and a half days to get back to base camp Do you roll back down, freefall? xx

Skate? Snowboard? Perhaps they toss the semi-celebs in one of those big inflatable bubbles and catapult them down?
