I'm not arguing. It's the Pennines one this Wednesday - riding a horse backwards and bouncing around Sheffield....
(And, to the lasting chagrin of the vestigial remains of my Yorkshire pride, joining a Yorkshire/Lancashire darts match and a apparently supporting the Wrong Side. I'll forgive him)
I'm so enjoying watching this again (and again...)

Last one tonight - Wales. Pony round up, sheep poo collecting and wonderful climb at the end.
And my favourite opening sequence from the whole series! *smiles fatuously*

Ahh, Mountain! That was the programme which made me an official Griff Enthusiast. I'll admit I was slightly curious with Three Men In A Boat, but Mountain was the one. I have to say though that I am at a loss as to why I didn't notice him before it.
One of the great things about Griff's documentaries is his manic enthusiasm for whatever he's doing - it's spellbinding and very sexy.

I agree (on both counts!) - so good to have a presenter who is wickedly intelligent, articulate, and so enthused. It's completely infectious as well; I keep thinking Oh! That looks fun! (with the possible exception of the sheep poo collecting) and wanting to know more about the things he brings forward. It's such a joy with all the total garbage that is put out nowadays to find someone willing to make intelligent but utterly accessible telly that will appeal to a huge range of people. More, I say! *bangs on high chair with spoon*
(I must admit that even after all these years of thinking he was the best thing ever, it was Three Men in a Boat that reminded me of exactly why. But Mountain was brilliant; one of the best things he's ever done IMHO).
(Sorry, I went off on one a bit there! )

*bang on thigh with hand (no spoon, nor high chair handy)*
Go off on one a bit more often.
I agree completely, there is so much utter trawl on telly, it's so refreshing to have something cool on.

In case anyone doesn't know, Mountain is being re-run all this week on UKTV Discovery, with each ep being shown about six times a day..... Exact times are on the site home page but it does look as if you'd need to make a positive effort not to catch at least some of it!

(Cable TV, I mean) How dare they broadcast it on non-Freeview channels? They're depriving televisular luddites like myself of truly amazing material. This is the sort of mismanagement up with which I shall not put! *bangs head on attic beam, due to lack of spoon, high chair, accessible thigh etc. etc.*

*wonders whether to point out that they did repeat it on BBC2 a month ago.....*
*decides against it*
Not that I'm disagreeing with you!

You're absolutely right, but the truth would have prevented me from having a nice, slightly pompous rant

UKTV also seem to be running it all day on a loop tomorrow (Sun). What a pity I have to do some actual work tomorrow; I could spend a highly non-achieving day in front of the tv!
