Recent conversations about the variety of the man's work over the years made me think about which of his shows I like best, and I'm finding it a difficult choice!
NTNOCN changed the way I looked at the world, S&J just made me laugh myself ill, Bookworm was fantastically well pitched and entertaining and educational (why don't we get anything of this quality now??), Restoration was quite simply The Best Idea in Decades, 3 Men in a Boat is a hoot, Mountain was beautiful and Mine All Mine (quite apart from being my favourite RTD script) was unmatchable for fangirl-pleasing gorgeousness....decisions decisions!
Anyone got a definite favourite?

Much as I loved NTNON, I think the ur-Griff show was probably 'The Bookworm'. Perfectly pitched for a Sunday evening, it encouraged us to read more widely and look at poetry beyond the usual 'canon'. Absolutely adored it! ;D

Restoration for me :)I totally agree with 'quite simply the Best Idea in decades'
It's just so original, relevant, informative and downright bloomin interesting.
Having said that,it's Griff's obvious enthusiasm for the subject and engaging personality that brings the whole sreies to life.
Can't wait.... ;D

It's impossible to choose isn't it,given that Himself only does quality TV? xx

I enjoyed the Smith and Jones show, that is where I first was introduced to Griff. Was too young to originally watch NTNOCN, but do love them now! I love all the documentaries Griff does and agree it is hard to pick just one. I wish I could have met Griff at Chatsworth in March, where he was filming for Rivers. I visited Chatsworth a couple of days after! Looking foward to seeing that Rivers episode.

I, predictably, am going to choose '3 Men in a Boat'. ;D

I guess I'll pick Alas Smith & Jones because that's the show that introduced me to Griff. I just watched some of the episodes today and I still love it so much! I wasn't even born when they showed NTNOCN but I've enjoyed the dvd I've got very much.
Rather sadly, I haven't seen any Restoration or Mine All Mine etc. because they don't show them here in Finland (even if I've sent so many emails to e. g. the Finnish broadcasting corporation). I've only seen some clips on YouTube! :--(

Mine All Mine......Still don't understand why anyone would want to own Swansea mind, but still an excellent programme.
They should have made a second series.

I adored Mine All Mine! Not only was he absolutely fab in it, I thought it was a lovely series and so funny. And I want to know what happened next, I hate leaving it where it ends.
