Which has absolutely nothing at all to do with the debate at hand.

Rooter, I am asking a polite question here, so please do not snap at me. Why do you think that everyone here thinks the sun shines out of his ass just because they are fans of his work? Now I do repeat, that is a polite question, nothing more. You've got me there-his work? Not the nine o' clock etc Alas Smith and Jones Some program where he publicly condemned to destruction the majority of buildings while saving a handful? No idea what else as I don't really follow (or perhaps appreciate) his 'work'. Has he done much else then?

Rooter - can we have the reasoned argument? I for one am interested to hear it, and I am sure many others are too.
Bizarre as it may seem, it's perfectly possible to participate in a site like this and not agree with everything the man says. You may find some of us agree with you.
I'm assuming that this is the point of joining us - to put your side of the argument, rather than indulging in nursery standard behaviour. I'd be grateful and interested if you would to coin a phrase either put up or shut up.

And if this develops into more of a slanging match I will have to start locking people out of here. Rooter, I have left in an equally crass dragging in of the troops in Afghanistan into the matter. Please do not try to do my job for me. How sanctimonious are you? (please don't see this as a personal attack) Rules should be across the board, if something is offensive, there are no varying degrees of offensiveness, just a whole. This smacks of that ol' "one rule for them, one rule for us" scenario, wether intended or not.

And you could have a quick look at the entirety of the rest of the site regarding his work - you seem to be rather behindhand with his cv. Do also bear in mind that we don't even cover the vast majority of the charitable causes he is involved in (I only deal with those of whom he is patron at the moment, although when time allows I will expand it to include the rest).

Of course there are degrees of offensiveness. Don't be daft. (and please don't see that as a personal attack either). For what it's worth, I don't think it's offensive to ask whether or not anyone's gay. Just irrelevent and childish.
I'm not being sanctimonious, just trying to do my job.

Which has absolutely nothing at all to do with the debate at hand. So many posts! goodness me. Anyway, what were you referring to?, my heads in a bit of a spin, (Knew I should have tried the Amontillado instead of the Bristol Cream).

I'm sorry, I understood you to mean you were offering one of your own. I'm still interested in the sources for this debate, particularly since the Daily Express/Mail decided things needed stirring up a little today.

It's a legitimate question, perhaps not releveant to this thread, but you could put it in the general curiosity box if that sounds better. Is he?
