Sorry to sound ignorant, but can anyone please tell me the breed of the dog Griff has with him in the new "river" series. he's such a calm mannered laid back dog, you simply have to fall in love with. many thanks in advance.

Hi Greg He's a Chocolate Labrador (named Cadbury, appropriately enough!),and they do indeed make great pets/companions for a family. My friend has one and says she would never have another breed now If you do a search online, there are loads of Choc Lab sites. xx

can anyone please tell me the breed of the dog Griff has with him in the new "river" series. I remember the dog has been referred to as chocolate Labrador in several reviews. There's photo in the Wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labrador_Retrieverhe's such a calm mannered laid back dog, you simply have to fall in love with. I've noticed Cadbury seems to be the real star of this series; maybe he'll get the next contract with the BBC. I wonder if they'd ask him to bring Griff along. ;D ETA: Oh, I came in second. Could be worse.

He certainly is stealing the lime light on the show He is a lovely dog. If I remember rightly Griff's children named him Cadbury. I think that is a brilliant choice.

I wonder why Cadbury took part in the Rivers series but not Three Men in a Boat (Some other dog played the role of Montmorency in 3MIAB). Cadbury certainly seems a very sensible and well-behaved dog. x

He's lovely! I don't know why they didn't use him for the first three men - perhaps the production company (it's not made by Griff's own company, unlike Rivers) had the idea! I think they should take him with them in future!
