Unfortunately, thanks to the kind attentions of peddlers of c*ck extensions and pornography, I have had to make a change to the posting rules on the board.
From hereon in, anyone can come and look at the forum but to start a thread or reply to a post you need to be registered. I'm really sorry about this, but we have been spammed so often in the last few days it is taking all our time to get rid of the buggers. I do hope everyone understands the reasons for this are nothing to do with wanting to be unwelcoming or to bounce people into joining.
So do please register - all members profoundly welcome, the more the merrier and all that (in particular Fanny Bones with all your wonderful info, for which I send grovelly thanks and without which we wouldn't be for the world) and I hope this isn't too much of an imposition!

THREE MEN IN MORE THAN ONE BOAT or the consequences of watching TMIMTOB
Watched the programme where they visit Penzance and Griff and Rory join the Penzance a Gilbert & Sullivan Society to sing Pirates of Penzance. Griff sings the Major General song. After watching the prog I went on You Tube and watched various songs from Pirates of Penzance. My wife found a local production In Bradford and we have seen this 3 times since and other G & S operettas. I went to a Pirates of Penzance sing-a-long and joined the Aireborough G & S Society. After many rehearsals I will be both a pirate and policeman in Pirates of Penzance from February 9 to 13th at Yeadon Town Hall, This may not seen all that surprising except for the fact that I have never sung before (except in the shower) ,never appeared on a stage, cannot read music and well I could go on. The enthusiasm, attention to detail and the traditions quite amaze me. And the singing is such a high standard. The principals are trained opera singers and many of the chorus have appeared as principals when they were younger.Spent nearly 6 hours rehearsing yesterday but wouldn't have missed a minute. And more long rehearsals to come. Many of my friends and relatives (some from quite a distance) are coming to Yeadon in February to watch - after all this is a first for me.
All as a result of watching THREE MEN IN MORE THAN ONE BOAT.

All as a result of watching THREE MEN IN MORE THAN ONE BOAT. What a lovely story that is! Thanks for sharing this with us! No use in wishing you a good time, I guess - seems you're enjoying yourself already! Obviously things happen not only at sea but on stage as well.
