Excellent show, really enjoyed it. I never had Griff down as one who would lose his temper, but it seems he has had his moments! I love the fact that he writes nasty sweary emails to people, and then doesn't send them - what a brilliant way to get some anger out of your system! He seemed genuinely hurt by the comments made by his ex assistant. I thought he was going to cry.....*sob*. Obviously he was very upset and shocked. The Big Brother girl should be shot! I'm sorry, but there is no other solution. And she had the cheek to call Griff rude. Grrrrr. And we saw Paul too! Yay! Brilliant programme, looking forward to the next one.

Yeah, the writing emails/letters and reviewing them later thing seems quite a good safety valve. I had a (generally lovely but rather fiery) flatmate who used to do that...she'd write a great long screed, then give it to me to read, and I would edit out the more bonkers content. She still gets me to review any letters of complaint she's sending to the bank/gas company/optician or whatever, so as to ensure she's not coming over like a loon (I worked in complaints handling for years, so can spot the kind of thing that will result in your letter being stuffed down the back of the office radiator...) ;D

I think it's a brilliant idea. Am adopting it henceforth. Any bets on how long before I make an epic cockup and send one by accident?

the show was brill ;D cant wait for the next one!
lol i keep myself a rant book XD then when i feel like a laugh i read back over it haha
omg i was reading a review of the programme in the Times (wednesday 24th) by Andrew Billen and was disgusted to see such comments as.. "..Chanelle Hayes, who lost it badly on Big Brother in 2007, and almost lost it again with Griff. I don't blame her for that. He is a pretty bad interviewer, interrupting interesting answers with badly formed questions."!! What on earth is he on about! Yeah ok he interupted, only because she was just blubbering on about some uninteresting stuff to do with how she doesnt hold grudges and she's still friends with her ex's! This programme is about how people deal with their anger not how they deal with their boyfriends.. i'm sorry but he was just trying to help her get to the point.

A rant diary? That's a fine idea. I think LiveJournal does that job for me!
I'll forgive Andrew Billen that comment for the rest of the review.... Glad I wasn't the only one to find Chanelle trying!
Anyway, what I came on here to say was that Part 1 of Losing It is being repeated on BBC2 at 11:50pm tonight (Monday 29th) so if you want to watch it again missed it the first time round here's an opportunity to catch up....

The boxing knocks a bit out of you doesn't it!
I think meditating is good if it's your thing, you know, in a life your thing, I've meditated, but only for fun because it plays with your mind, in a fun way, not like a mental way, makes my legs feel like they're twisting around each other.

And who'd have expected pearls of wisdom from Rory McGrath!
Fascinating I thought.....
Hands up who can spot the moment at which everyone in my house folded up laughing though!

Urgh. This cold is becoming more of a mare by the second. Intelligent response will have to wait until the morning....

Not had a chance to catch the repeat yet so i am not sure. Go on tell us. I also like to thank Griff for not making me feel too much like a freak when it comes to talking to your self which he says he does a lot. I don't like admitting this but i do too. Usually it occurs when i am frantically planning something/things that are on my mind that keep getting turned over and over and i find myself talking to myself about it. I too can also fly off the handle at some stupid although thats sort of dyed down a lot now. I have my moments Anyway yeah really good last night

I have a well documented visceral loathing for the utterly harmless and pleasant Ben Fogle....

Aha!! Now I am back from the wilderness which is known as Norfolk, I've had time to sit down and read this thread....
Bloody marvellous programme, I thought. Anger is a perfectly normal human emotion. Nowt wrong with admitting to flying off the handle from time to time. We all have our off days and we all lose patience with people who are being just a little bit incompetent, or computers that are crashing on us, or cars not starting (loved the Basil Fawlty clip btw - one of my favourites!!) etc......
Thing with Griff is it appears to be just harmless ranting and he doesn't seem to hold onto a grudge after the initial "explosion" has occurred. He sees the funny side of the situation and even has a giggle at himself for having lost it in the first place. I think that's quite endearing really!!
I missed this week's offering but I shall watch it on BBC iPlayer later in the week!!
Nice to be here btw!!
LPLxx ;D
