I watched it today for the first time. After a long search they found a sleeping rhino. There is a lot of footage of turning wheels in the dusty African sand while the viewer is keen to finally see the animal that was so hard to find. The team had to rush back, when the rhino woke up and seemingly nobody took the effort to get good footage of it before that. I can see turning wheels every day - one step outside the door... there you go: turning wheels. To be fair, there is some decent rhino material in this show, but after that long journey giving the audience just a glimpse of the very first rhino to be seen annoyed me a bit. In hindsight the thought comes up, that their priority was making good pictures of the presenter. Not his fault. Could be mine. I have an evil mind. During the search Griff told us a bit about black rhinos, their sex habits, for example, in comparison to his. The landscape in the window passed by - they could have driven past Las Vegas, I wouldn't have noticed. I can't explain how this could happen.

This article might go some way to explaining it! The relevant bit is about half way down the page... (The webmistress would like to point out that she doesn't entirely have a problem with nice shots of the presenter, although she does take your point !)

Neither have I, in its entirety - sister's Skyplus failed to pick it up so I missed the beginning, and I had to frantically text a friend of mine to get the rest!
I shall be watching with interest after Fanny Bones's review though!

Thanks for reminding me of that Times article, Polina. Totally forgot about that. So, Harry Hook is the name? I already had a hunch that they were deliberately disturbing the animal. Nice shots are fine! Of anyone. The presenter, rhinos, Harry Hook... Shoot them all. But no killing! Use the camera, please! ;D I've yet to see it, shall hopefully nab it tonight. I hope, you'll manage to see it. It's a nice watch with some precious moments. And there's one presenter/spectator eye-to-eye... Indescribable.

Yes, it's about 10 minutes before the end. His watch shows 7 minutes to 5 in that scene. Not the first time I came to think that he plays guitar, btw.

You're welcome! The link I posted above is still working, btw. Apparently they are having this series on the loop.
