I'm putting this here as it's not really part of the rivers debate. Let's just say it cheered me up immensely!

I for one am really looking forward to this programme. I love walking along river banks, luckly a lot of the week I am based at London Bridge and although it's very concrete I can still listen to the water and feel the river breeze. It's sad to see the arguing on the other thread. It would be nice to keep this one for talking about the beauty of the rivers we are going to be introduced to!

Aww just finished watching our lovely griffily-if on BBC Scotland. Nice to hear all the Scottish accents, even Griff's!! 'Dreich' was particularly well pronounced!! Shame he wasn't near me, I live next to a river

Just popped on here to say how much I've enjoyed the first episode. The Scottish waters and scenery in general were so dramatic. It's so striking when you see the impact of erosion so close. I hadn't realised the impact of global warming on flooding in Scotland, much to my shame. I had really thought of it as more an English problem as we slowly tip into the sea! It's clearly a serious problem in Scotland as well.
I thought Griff was very brave to do the slalem course and the swim! Not for all the tea in China would I have done that!
Really looking forward to next week.

Well I watched it! And I thought it was wonderful - beautifully shot and very nicely done.
I was seriously impressed by him doing the Freeze Your Bollocks Off swim - crikey. And Cadbury was wonderful!

Really enjoyed last nights programme. Everything that I hoped it would be, beautiful scenery, a little bit of clowning around, and a little bit of access politics as well. I can't tell you how brave I think Griff was for his swim, does he cold water swim regularly? If he doesn't then even more power to his elbow. Looking forward to next week's episode now.

I lived in Cornwall for 9 years and whilst there I did a bit of sailing and a lot of scuba diving. On my first ever sea dive I turned up at Maenporth beach to find it covered in 3 inches of snow, so I know what cold is! But there is no way on this earth I would have spent 10 minutes in that ice cold stream without a very thick dry suit.......... Serious respect Mr Rhys Jones. P.S. Great show, looking forward to the next installment.

I absolutely loved the first show - especially as it was filmed in my area of Scotland. Yes, the River Tay is my local river - it's just a shame I wasn't there at the same time as Griff ;)Really looking forward to the rest of the series.
