Thanks for the info, I did try BBC but that was a complete waste of time hopefully Modern Television will be a better bet - thanks again for taking the time to respond You're welcome! :-) Let's hope you'll be successful.

I saw two episodes of "Rivers" and enjoyed them very much. I would like to buy a DVD of the whole series. Could you tell me whether there are any plans to release the series on DVD?
Thanks Nigel
(PS. Apologies if this question was asked and answered already somewhere else on the forum.)

Regards Nigel Apologies for being such an old bore, but could I ask again if anyone knows whether "Rivers" will be released on DVD? It was an outstanding series, and I'd probably buy at least three copies of the DVD for myself and friends, if it became available. Regards Nigel

Hello irishman, this is not boring at all. I am very keen to see if and when the powers that be will recognise that there is really demand for a DVD release. Maybe they were a bit disappointed with the Mountain DVD release; and now they can't imagine that it would be different with Rivers. could I ask again if anyone knows whether "Rivers" will be released on DVD? At the moment it doesn't look like it, sorry.

Hello Irishman,
You're not being a bore at all - I've got lots of people waiting for an answer to this one!
I'll give a prod again when the office is back in action in the New Year. Hopefully given the success of the 3 Men dvds they will reconsider!

Just to let everyone know - Blighty (UKTV People as was) are running a whole week of repeats of Rivers and Mountain. Details are too complicated to type in again, but they are all on the home page.
Sunday 11 April seems to have the entire day devoted to re-runs of Rivers. Enjoy!

This is almost great news apart from 2 things - 1/ It's on Blighty which is not a regular freeview channel and I don't get it 2/ Blighty probably has ad breaks every 12 secons like Dave does... I really do hope that the BBC see sense and release Rivers in all it's glory on DVD. When such light and inconsequential 'fluff' as Julia Bradbury's Railway Walks was released on DVD even before the original broadcast of the last episode had been shown, then I want to bang my head against a wall that Rivers has been so glaringly overlooked - a book just doesn't do such a vast & immensely visual project justice... Although I think even Griff would agree that 3hrs of Julia Bradbury's bottom on DVD is not such a bad deal... ;D

Well, this is a turnip for the berks... an Australian website with an expected released date for Rivers on DVD - shop.abc.net.au/browse/product.asp?productid=782808Needs to be taken with a big pinch of salt methinks, but going by that date we should be getting it 1-2 months prior! At chuffing last! - IF it happens
